过了一年，到列王出战的时候，大卫又差派约押，率领众仆人和以色列众人出战。他们就打败亚扪儿女，围攻拉巴。大卫仍住在耶路撒冷。
这样发生了，过了那年后，当到众王出征的时候，大卫就派约阿布和与他在一起他的众仆人并全以色列出去；他们就消灭了阿门孩子们，又围攻拉巴。但大卫仍然留在耶路撒冷。
过了一年，到列王出战的时候，大卫又差派约押，率领臣仆和以色列众人出战。他们就打败亚扪人，围攻拉巴。大卫仍住在耶路撒冷。
And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

一天傍晚，大卫从床上起来，在王家的房顶上行走，看见一个女人沐浴，容貌很美，

And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

大卫就差人打听那女人是谁。有人说，她是以连的女儿，赫人乌利亚的妻拔示巴。
大卫就派人询问那女人是谁。有人说，这个人不是以连的女儿，希斯人乌瑞亚的妻子巴斯实巴吗？

And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

大卫差使者去接她，她就进到大卫那里，他就与她躺卧，因那时她的月经才得洁净。然后她就回家去了。
大卫就派众使者去接她；她就进到他那里，他就与她躺卧；因那时她从她的不洁净才被纯化；她就返回她家去了。

And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.

于是女人怀了孕，差人去告诉大卫说，我有了孩子。
然后这女人怀孕了，就派人去告诉大卫，说，我有了孩子。
于是她怀了孕，打发人去告诉大卫说：“我怀了孕。”
And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.

大卫差人到约押那里，说，你派赫人乌利亚到我这里来。约押就派乌利亚去见大卫。
大卫就派人到约阿布那里，说，派希斯人乌瑞亚到我这里来。约阿布就派乌瑞亚到大卫那里。
大卫差人到约押那里，说：“你打发赫人乌利亚到我这里来。”约押就打发乌利亚去见大卫。
And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.

乌利亚来了，大卫问约押好，也问百姓好，又问争战的事怎样
当乌瑞亚来到他那里，大卫追问约阿布怎么样，也问人民怎么样，又问战争的形势怎么样。
乌利亚来了，大卫问约押好，也问兵好，又问争战的事怎样。
And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered.

大卫对乌利亚说，你回家去，洗洗脚吧。乌利亚出了王的家，随后王送他一分食物。
大卫对乌瑞亚说，下去你的家，洗洗你的脚吧。乌瑞亚就离开了王的家，随后王送了他一份食物。

And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king.

But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house.

有人告诉大卫说，乌利亚没有回家去。大卫就问乌利亚说，你从远路上来，为什么不回家去呢？
当他们告诉大卫，说，乌瑞亚没有下去他的家，大卫就对乌瑞亚说，你不是刚从你的旅程回来吗？那么你为什么不下去你的家？
有人告诉大卫说：“乌利亚没有回家去。”大卫就问乌利亚说：“你从远路上来，为什么不回家去呢？”
And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house?

乌利亚对大卫说，约柜和以色列与犹大都住在帐篷里，我主约押和我主的仆人都在田野安营，我怎可回家吃喝、与妻子躺卧呢？正如你活着，你的魂活着，我绝不行这事。
乌瑞亚对大卫说，躯皿，以色列，犹大都留在帐篷里；我主约阿布和我主的众仆人都在开阔的田野里安营；那我怎么能进我的家，吃喝又与我妻子躺卧？正如你活着，你的魂也活着，我不会做这事。
乌利亚对大卫说：“约柜和以色列与犹大兵都住在棚里，我主约押和我主（或译：王）的仆人都在田野安营，我岂可回家吃喝、与妻子同寝呢？我敢在王面前起誓（原文是我指着王和王的性命起誓）：我决不行这事！”
And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.

大卫对乌利亚说，你今天仍住在这里，明天我差你去。于是乌利亚那天和次日住在耶路撒冷。
然后大卫对乌瑞亚说，你今天也留在这里吧，明天我会让你离开。于是乌瑞亚那天和第二天都住在耶路撒冷里。
大卫吩咐乌利亚说：“你今日仍住在这里，明日我打发你去。”于是乌利亚那日和次日住在耶路撒冷。
And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow.

大卫召了乌利亚来，叫他在自己面前吃喝，使他喝醉。到了晚上，乌利亚出去与他主的仆人一起住宿，还没有回到家里去。
当大卫叫他来，他就在他面前吃喝；然后他就让他喝醉了；到了晚上，他出去与他主的众仆人一起躺在床上，却没有下去他的家。
大卫召了乌利亚来，叫他在自己面前吃喝，使他喝醉。到了晚上，乌利亚出去与他主的仆人一同住宿，还没有回到家里去。
And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.

And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.

And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.

And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.

Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;

又嘱咐使者说，你把争战的一切事对王说完了，

And charged the messenger, saying, When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,

王若发怒，起来问你说，你们打仗为什么挨近城墙呢？难道不知敌人必从城上射箭吗？
如果王的怒火发作，他对你说，你们打仗的时候为什么靠城那么近呢？难道你们不知道他们会从城墙上射箭吗？
王若发怒，问你说：‘你们打仗为什么挨近城墙呢？岂不知敌人必从城上射箭吗？
And if so be that the king's wrath arise, and he say unto thee, Wherefore approached ye so nigh unto the city when ye did fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?

从前打死耶路巴力儿子亚比米勒的是谁呢？难道不是一个女人从城上抛下一块磨石来，打在他身上，他就死在提备斯吗？你们为什么挨近城墙呢？你就说，王的仆人赫人乌利亚也死了。
从前重击耶路贝塞斯儿子阿比米勒克的是谁？不就是一个女人从城墙上抛下一块磨石到他身上，他就死在了塞贝兹里吗？你们为什么靠近城墙？那时你就说，你的仆人希斯人乌瑞亚也死了。
从前打死耶路·比设（就是耶路·巴力，见士师记九章一节）儿子亚比米勒的是谁呢？岂不是一个妇人从城上抛下一块上磨石来，打在他身上，他就死在提备斯吗？你们为什么挨近城墙呢？’你就说：‘王的仆人赫人乌利亚也死了。’”
Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went ye nigh the wall? then say thou, Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

使者起身，来见大卫，照着约押差他要说的一切告诉大卫。
于是使者走了，就来把约阿布派他来要说的一切显给了大卫。
使者起身，来见大卫，照着约押所吩咐他的话奏告大卫。
So the messenger went, and came and shewed David all that Joab had sent him for.

使者对大卫说，敌人强过我们，出到田间与我们打仗，我们追杀他们，直到城门口。
使者对大卫说，那些人确实战胜了我们，又出到田野我们那里，我们就把他们赶到大门的入口处。
使者对大卫说：“敌人强过我们，出到郊野与我们打仗，我们追杀他们，直到城门口。
And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.

射箭的从城上射王的仆人，射死几个，赫人乌利亚也死了。
射手们从城墙上向你的众仆人射箭；然后王的一些仆人死了，你的仆人希斯人乌瑞亚也死了。

And the shooters shot from off the wall upon thy servants; and some of the king's servants be dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

王向使者说，你告诉约押说，不要因这事愁闷，刀剑或吞灭这人或吞灭那人，没有一定的，你只管竭力攻城，将城倾覆。可以用这话勉励约押。
于是大卫对使者说，你要对约阿布这样说，不要让这事使你不喜悦，因剑吞灭一个同样吞灭另一个；你要更猛烈地攻打这城，把它倾覆；你要这样鼓励他。
王向使者说：“你告诉约押说：‘不要因这事愁闷，刀剑或吞灭这人或吞灭那人，没有一定的；你只管竭力攻城，将城倾覆。’可以用这话勉励约押。”
Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.

乌利亚的妻听见丈夫乌利亚死了，就为他哀哭。
当乌瑞亚的妻子听见她丈夫乌瑞亚死了，她就为她的丈夫哀悼。

And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband.

哀哭的日子过了，大卫差人将她接到家里，她就作了大卫的妻，给大卫生了一个儿子。但大卫所行的这事，耶和华并不喜悦。
当哀悼的日子过去了，大卫就派人把她接到他的家里，她就成了他的妻子，并给他生了一个儿子。而大卫做的这事，使主不喜悦。
哀哭的日子过了，大卫差人将她接到宫里，她就作了大卫的妻，给大卫生了一个儿子。但大卫所行的这事，耶和华甚不喜悦。
And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.
