   犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第四年，尼利亚的儿子巴录将先知耶利米口中所说的话写在书上。耶利米说，

   这话是预言者耶瑞米亚对尼瑞亚的儿子巴如克讲的，当他把耶瑞米亚口中的这些话写在书上时，是犹大王约西亚的儿子耶和亚金第四年，说，

   犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第四年，尼利亚的儿子巴录将先知耶利米口中所说的话写在书上。耶利米说：

   The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

   巴录啊，耶和华以色列的神说，

   巴如克啊，主以色列的神这样对你说；

   “巴录啊，耶和华以色列的　神说：

   Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch:

   你曾说，我现在有祸了。耶和华将忧愁加在我的痛苦上，我因唉哼而困乏，不能安歇。

   你曾说，我现在有祸了！主把忧伤加在我的悲伤上；我在困乏里唉哼，我不能休息。

   ‘巴录（原文是你）曾说：哀哉！耶和华将忧愁加在我的痛苦上，我因唉哼而困乏，不得安歇。’

   Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

   耶和华说，我的仆人雅各啊，不要畏惧。因我与你在一起。我要使赶你去到的那些国彻底结束，却不让你彻底结束，但要适量纠正你，也不能让你完全不受惩罚。

   你要这样对他说，主这样说；看啊，我建造的，我会拆毁；我栽植的，我会拔出，就是这整块土地。

   你要这样告诉他，耶和华如此说：我所建立的，我必拆毁；我所栽植的，我必拔出；在全地我都如此行。

   Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

   你为自己图谋大事吗？不要图谋。看啊，因我必使灾祸临到所有肉体。但你无论往哪里去，我必使你以自己的命为掠物。这是耶和华说的。

   你为自己寻求伟大的事情吗？不要寻求它们；看啊，因我要把坏事带到所有肉体身上，这是主说的；但在你去到的所有地方，我都会把你的生命作为一个掠物给你。

   你为自己图谋大事吗？不要图谋！我必使灾祸临到凡有血气的。但你无论往哪里去，我必使你以自己的命为掠物。这是耶和华说的。”

   And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
