1. 1

   我与我的双眼立约，怎能恋恋瞻望童女呢？

   我与我的双眼立了一个契约；为什么我还要考虑一个侍女？

   “我与眼睛立约，怎能恋恋瞻望处女呢？

   I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

2. 2

   从至上的神所得之分，从高处的全能者所得之业是什么呢？

   神从上面来的份是什么？全能者从高处来的产业是什么？

   从至上的　神所得之份，从至高全能者所得之业是什么呢？

   For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

3. 3

   难道不是毁灭临到恶人，灾祸刑罚作孽的吗？

   难道不是对邪恶者的毁灭？难道不是对罪过的工作者们的一个奇怪惩罚？

   岂不是祸患临到不义的，灾害临到作孽的呢？

   Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

4. 4

   他难道不察看我的道路，数点我的脚步吗？

   他没有看我的众道路，并数算我一切的脚步吗？

   神岂不是察看我的道路，数点我的脚步呢？

   Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

5. 5

   如果我与虚妄同行，或是如果我的脚追随诡诈；

   如果我与虚空一起走，或者如果我的脚急忙去欺骗；

   “我若与虚谎同行，脚若追随诡诈；

   If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

6. 6

   让我被公道的天平称量，使神可以知道我的纯正；

   那就让我被公平的天平称量吧，使神可以知道我的纯全。

   我若被公道的天平称度，使　神可以知道我的纯正；

   Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

7. 7

   如果我的脚步偏离正路，如果我的心随着我的眼睛行走，如果有玷污粘在我手上；

   如果我的脚步转离了道路，我的心随从我的眼睛行走，如果有任何污点粘着我的手；

   我的脚步若偏离正路，我的心若随着我的眼目，若有玷污粘在我手上；

   If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;

8. 8

   就让我所种的叫别人吃，我的后裔被连根拔出来。

   那么让我播种，让别人吃；是的，让我的后裔被连根拔出来。

   就愿我所种的有别人吃，我田所产的被拔出来。

   Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.

9. 9

   如果我的心被女人欺骗，或我在邻居的门外蹲伏，

   如果我的心被一个女人欺骗，或者如果我在邻居的门口埋伏；

   “我若受迷惑，向妇人起淫念，在邻舍的门外蹲伏，

   If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;

    就愿我的妻子给别人推磨，别人也伏在她身上。

    那么就让我的妻子给别人推磨，又让别人屈身在她上面。

    就愿我的妻子给别人推磨，别人也与她同室。

    Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

11. 11

    因为这是大罪，是审判官当刑罚的罪孽。

    因为这是一项极恶的罪；是的，它是审判官要惩罚的一个罪过。

    因为这是大罪，是审判官当罚的罪孽。

    For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.

12. 12

    这是火焚烧，直到毁灭，必连根拔出我所有的家产。

    因为它是一把来毁灭的消灭的火，又要连根拔出我所有的出产。

    这本是火焚烧，直到毁灭，必拔除我所有的家产。

    For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

13. 13

    我的男仆或我的女仆与我争辩的时候，我若藐视不听他们的理由；

    当我的男仆或我的女仆与我争辩的时候，如果我藐视不听他们的理由；

    “我的仆婢与我争辩的时候，我若藐视不听他们的情节；

    If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;

    神兴起，我怎样行呢？他造访，我怎样回答呢？

    神站起来时，我会做什么？当他造访的时候，我应该回答他什么？

    神兴起，我怎样行呢？他察问，我怎样回答呢？

    What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?

15. 15

    造我在子宫中的，不也造他吗？将我们塑造在子宫中的难道不是一位吗？

    在子宫里造我的，不也造了他？把我们塑造在子宫里的不是同一位？

    造我在腹中的，不也是造他吗？将他与我抟在腹中的岂不是一位吗？

    Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

16. 16

    如果我不让贫穷人得其所愿，或叫寡妇眼中失望，

    如果我不让贫穷者得其所望，或让寡妇眼中失望；

    “我若不容贫寒人得其所愿，或叫寡妇眼中失望，

    If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

    或独自吃我一点食物，孤儿没有与我同吃；

    或独自吃我的那点，而无父者吃不着其中的份；

    或独自吃我一点食物，孤儿没有与我同吃；

    Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;

18. 18

    （从我幼年时他与我一起被带大，好像有父亲一样；我从出我母亲的子宫就引领她。）

    （因从我青年时他就与我一起被带大，好像有父亲的一样，并且我从出我母亲的子宫就引导她；）

    从幼年时孤儿与我同长，好像父子一样；我从出母腹就扶助（原文是引领）寡妇。）

    (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb;)

19. 19

    如果我见人因无衣死亡，或见贫穷人身无遮盖；

    如果我看见任何人因没有衣服而灭亡，或看见任何贫穷人没有遮盖；

    我若见人因无衣死亡，或见穷乏人身无遮盖；

    If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering;

20. 20

    如果我不使他因我羊的毛得温暖，为我祝福；

    如果他的腰没有祝福我，如果他没有因我的羊毛得温暖；

    我若不使他因我羊的毛得暖，为我祝福；

    If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

21. 21

    当我在城门口见有帮助我，如果我举手攻击孤儿；

    当我在大门口看见我的帮助时，如果我举起手来攻击过无父者；

    我若在城门口见有帮助我的，举手攻击孤儿；

    If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:

22. 22

    情愿我的肩头从肩胛脱落，我的膀臂从骨头折断。

    那么就让我的膀臂脱离肩胛掉落，并且我的膀臂脱离骨头折断吧。

    情愿我的肩头从缺盆骨脱落，我的膀臂从羊矢骨折断。

    Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.

23. 23

    因神降的灾祸使我恐惧；因他的威严，我不能妄为。

    因从神来的灾祸对我是个恐惧，又因他的高尚，我不能坚持。

    因　神降的灾祸使我恐惧；因他的威严，我不能妄为。

    For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.

24. 24

    我如果以黄金为指望，对精金说，你是我的倚靠；

    如果我让金子成为我的希望，或对精金说，你是我的信任；

    “我若以黄金为指望，对精金说：你是我的倚靠；

    If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

25. 25

    我如果因财物众多，并且因我手多得资财而欢喜；

    如果我因财富巨大，并且因我的手获得的很多而喜乐；

    我若因财物丰裕，因我手多得资财而欢喜；

    If I rejoice because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;

26. 26

    我如果见太阳发光，明月行在空中，

    当太阳发光时，如果我观看过，或者观看月亮行走在光亮中；

    我若见太阳发光，明月行在空中，

    If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;

27. 27

    我的心就暗暗被诱惑，用自己的嘴亲手；

    然后我的心就被秘密地诱惑，或用我的嘴亲过我的手；

    心就暗暗被引诱，口便亲手；

    And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:

28. 28

    这也是审判官应当刑罚的罪孽，因我已经背弃在上的神。

    这也是审判官应该惩罚的一个罪过；因我已经否认了那在上面的神。

    这也是审判官当罚的罪孽，又是我背弃在上的　神。

    This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.

29. 29

    我如果见恨我的遭报就欢喜，见他遭祸便高举自己；

    如果我看见恨我的人遭报就高兴，或当坏事找到他时，就抬高我自己；

    “我若见恨我的遭报就欢喜，见他遭灾便高兴；

    If I rejoice at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him:

30. 30

    我没有让口犯罪，咒诅他的魂；

    我也没有容许过我的嘴去犯罪，希望有一个咒诅去到他的魂那里。

    我没有容口犯罪，咒诅他的生命；

    Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.

31. 31

    如果我帐幕的人不说，哦，我们有他的肉！我们不能满足。

    属我帐幕的众人，如果他们没说，哦，愿我们拥有他的肉！我们不能满足。

    若我帐棚的人未尝说，谁不以主人的食物吃饱呢？

    If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied.

32. 32

    从来我没有让客旅在街上住宿，却开门迎接行路的人；

    外人没有在街上住宿过；而我对旅行者打开了我的门。

    从来我没有容客旅在街上住宿，却开门迎接行路的人；

    The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doors to the traveller.

33. 33

    我如果像亚当遮掩我的过犯，将罪孽藏在怀中；

    如果我像亚当一样掩盖我的违犯，把罪过隐藏在我怀里；

    我若像亚当（或译：别人）遮掩我的过犯，将罪孽藏在怀中；

    If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:

34. 34

    我畏惧过大众吗？宗族的藐视使我惊恐过，以致我保持沉默，不出门吗？

    我畏惧过群众吗？或者家族的蔑视使我恐吓过，以致我保持沉默，不出门吗？

    因惧怕大众，又因宗族藐视我使我惊恐，以致闭口无言，杜门不出；

    Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?

35. 35

    但愿有一位愿意听我！看啊，我渴望的是，全能者回答我，我的仇敌写一本书。

    哦，愿有一个听我的！看啊，我的渴望是，全能者回答我，还有我的仇敌已经写了一本书。

    惟愿有一位肯听我！（看哪，在这里有我所划的押，愿全能者回答我！）

    Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.

36. 36

    我必把它带在肩上，又把它如冠冕绑住。

    我一定会把它扛在我的肩上，并把它像一个冠冕一样绑在我身上。

    愿那敌我者所写的状词在我这里！我必带在肩上，又绑在头上为冠冕。

    Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.

37. 37

    我必向他述说我脚步的数目，必如王子进到他面前。

    我要向他表明我脚步的数字；我要像个王子一样走近他。

    我必向他述说我脚步的数目，必如君王进到他面前。

    I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near unto him.

38. 38

    如果我的田地向我喊冤，或是犁沟若向我诉苦；

    如果我的土地针对我哭喊，或其犁沟也是这样向我抱怨；

    “我若夺取田地，这地向我喊冤，犁沟一同哭泣；

    If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof complain;

39. 39

    我如果吃地的出产不给价值，或叫原主丧他们的命；

    如果我吃了其果子没有给钱，或导致其拥有者失去了他们的生命；

    我若吃地的出产不给价值，或叫原主丧命；

    If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

40. 40

    愿这地长蓟代替麦子，长恶草代替大麦。约伯的话说完了。

    就让这地长出蓟草代替小麦，长出麦仙翁草代替大麦吧。约伯的话语结束了。

    愿这地长蒺藜代替麦子，长恶草代替大麦。”约伯的话说完了。

    Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.
