Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

我们若想与你谈论，你就忧伤吗？但谁能忍住不说呢？
如果我们试图与你交流，你会忧愁吗？但谁能忍住不说呢？
“人若想与你说话，你就厌烦吗？但谁能忍住不说呢？
If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?

看啊，你素来教导许多的人，又坚固软弱的手。
看啊，你教导过许多，你又加强了软弱者的手。
你素来教导许多的人，又坚固软弱的手。
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.

你的言语曾扶助那将要跌倒的人，你又使软弱的膝稳固。
你的话语支持过那要跌倒的人，你又加强了虚弱的膝。
你的言语曾扶助那将要跌倒的人；你又使软弱的膝稳固。
Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.

但现在它临到你，你就昏迷，它碰到你，你便惊惶。
但现在这来到了你身上，你就昏软；这碰到了你，你就烦恼。
但现在祸患临到你，你就昏迷，挨近你，你便惊惶。
But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.

这不是你的畏惧，你的自信，你的盼望，和你的行事正直吗？
这个不是你的畏惧，你的信任，你的盼望，和你行为的正直吗？
你的倚靠不是在你敬畏 神吗？你的盼望不是在你行事纯正吗？
Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?

求你追想：无辜的人有谁灭亡？有义的人在哪里剪除？
我请求你记得，无辜的人有谁灭亡？或哪里有正义的人被剪除？
请你追想：无辜的人有谁灭亡？正直的人在何处剪除？
Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?

我曾见到，耕罪孽、种罪恶的人都收割所耕种的。
正如我看见的，耕种罪过的人和撒播邪恶的人，他们都收获了同样的。
按我所见，耕罪孽、种毒害的人都照样收割。
Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

神一出气，他们就灭亡；他鼻孔的气一出，他们就消没。
借着神的惊吓，他们就灭亡，借着他鼻孔的气，他们就被消灭了。
神一出气，他们就灭亡； 神一发怒，他们就消没。
By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.

狮子的吼叫和猛狮的声音尽都止息；少壮狮子的牙齿也都敲掉。

The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

老狮子因缺猎物而死；吼叫的幼狮也都离散。
老狮子因缺少猎物而灭亡，并且吼叫的幼狮都散到远方。
老狮子因绝食而死；母狮之子也都离散。
The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.

有东西偷偷传给我，我耳朵也听到其细微的声音。
现在，一件事被秘密地带给了我，我的耳朵接受到其中的一点。
“我暗暗地得了默示；我耳朵也听其细微的声音。
Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.

从夜间异象而来的心思中，人们沉睡的时候，
在那从夜晚的异象而来的思想中，当深睡落到一个人身上的时候，
在思念夜中、异象之间，世人沉睡的时候，
In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men,

畏惧和战兢临到我，这使我百骨打战。
畏惧来到我身上，还有颤抖，这使我的百骨摇动。
恐惧、战兢临到我身，使我百骨打战。
Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.

一个灵从我面前经过，我身上的毫毛直立。
于是有一个灵从我的脸前经过；我身上的毛发都直了起来；
有灵从我面前经过，我身上的毫毛直立。
Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:

那灵停住，我辨不出其形状；有影像在我眼前。我在静默中听见有声音说，
它站住不动，但我分辨不出其形状；一个形象出现在我眼前，一片寂静，然后我听到一个声音，说，
那灵停住，我却不能辨其形状；有影像在我眼前。我在静默中听见有声音说：
It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,

必死的人怎能比神公义呢？人怎能比他的创造者洁净呢？
会死的人比神更公正？一个人比他的制造者更纯一？
‘必死的人岂能比 神公义吗？人岂能比造他的主洁净吗？
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

看啊，他不信靠他的众仆人，并且指他的天使为愚昧；
看啊，他不把信靠放在他的众仆人里；并且他用蠢事吩咐他的众天使；
主不信靠他的臣仆，并且指他的使者为愚昧；
Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

何况那住在土房、根基在尘土里、被蠹虫所毁坏的人呢？
那住在粘土房里，其根基在尘土里，在飞蛾面前能被毁坏的，有多么渺小？
何况那住在土房、根基在尘土里、被蠹虫所毁坏的人呢？
How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

早晚之间，就被毁灭，永归无有，无人理会。
他们从早晨到傍晚就毁灭了；他们永远灭亡，没有任何人在乎这事。
早晚之间，就被毁灭，永归无有，无人理会。
They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.
- 21
他们的尊荣难道不从中离开吗？他们死，并且是无智慧而死。
难道他们里面的出类拔萃不会走掉？他们死了，甚至毫无智慧。
他帐棚的绳索岂不从中抽出来呢？他死，且是无智慧而死。’”
Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
