   基列人耶弗他是个大能的勇士，是妓女的儿子。耶弗他是基列所生的。

   Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.

2. 2

   基列的妻为他生了几个儿子：他妻子的儿子们长大了，就赶走耶弗他，说，你不能在我们父家承受产业，因为你是妓女的儿子。

   基拉得的妻子为他生了众子；并且他妻子的儿子们长大了，他们就赶走耶弗撒，又对他说，你不能在我们父亲的家里继承；因为你是一个外族女人的儿子。

   基列的妻也生了几个儿子：他妻所生的儿子长大了，就赶逐耶弗他，说：“你不可在我们父家承受产业，因为你是妓女的儿子。”

   And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman.

   耶弗他就逃避他的弟兄，去住在陀伯地，有些匪徒到他那里聚集，与他一起出入。

   于是耶弗撒就从他的弟兄们那里逃了，住在图布的土地里；有些虚空的人到耶弗撒那里聚集，又与他一起出去。

   耶弗他就逃避他的弟兄，去住在陀伯地，有些匪徒到他那里聚集，与他一同出入。

   Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.

   过了些日子，亚扪儿女攻打以色列。

   随着时间的推移，这样发生了，阿门孩子们与以色列争战。

   过了些日子，亚扪人攻打以色列。

   And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.

   亚扪儿女攻打以色列的时候，基列的长老到陀伯地去，要叫耶弗他回来；

   就是这样，当阿门孩子们与以色列争战的时候，基拉得的众长者到图布的土地去要让耶弗撒出来；

   亚扪人攻打以色列的时候，基列的长老到陀伯地去，要叫耶弗他回来；

   And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:

   对耶弗他说，请你来作我们的元帅，我们好与亚扪儿女争战。

   他们对耶弗撒说，来，作我们的军长吧，使我们可以与阿门孩子们打仗。

   对耶弗他说：“请你来作我们的元帅，我们好与亚扪人争战。”

   And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.

7. 7

   耶弗他回答基列的长老说，从前你们不是恨我、驱逐我离开父家吗？现在你们遭遇急难为什么到我这里来呢？

   耶弗撒对基拉得的众长者说，你们不是恨我，又把我驱逐出了我父亲的家吗？现在你们在危难中的时候，为什么来我这里呢？

   耶弗他回答基列的长老说：“从前你们不是恨我、赶逐我出离父家吗？现在你们遭遇急难为何到我这里来呢？”

   And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?

8. 8

   基列的长老们回答耶弗他说，现在我们到你这里来，是要你与我们一起去，与亚扪儿女争战；你可以作基列一切居民的领袖。

   基拉得的众长者对耶弗撒说，现在我们再次转到你这里来，是要让你与我们一起走，并攻打阿门孩子们，又作我们的头领管理基拉得的一切居民。

   基列的长老回答耶弗他说：“现在我们到你这里来，是要你同我们去，与亚扪人争战；你可以作基列一切居民的领袖。”

   And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

9. 9

   耶弗他对基列的长老们说，你们叫我回去，与亚扪儿女争战，耶和华把他交给我，我可以作你们的领袖吗？

   耶弗撒就对基拉得的众长者说，如果你们带我回家攻打阿门孩子们，并且主把他们交在我面前，我就会作你们的头领吗？

   耶弗他对基列的长老说：“你们叫我回去，与亚扪人争战，耶和华把他交给我，我可以作你们的领袖吗？”

   And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head?

10. 10

    基列的长老们回答耶弗他说，有耶和华在你我中间作见证，我们必定照你的话行。

    基拉得的众长者对耶弗撒说，如果我们没有按照你的话语做，那么主在我们中间作见证。

    基列的长老回答耶弗他说：“有耶和华在你我中间作见证，我们必定照你的话行。”

    And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The LORD be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.

11. 11

    于是耶弗他同基列的长老们回去，百姓就立耶弗他作领袖、作元帅。耶弗他在米斯巴将自己的一切话陈明在耶和华面前。

    于是耶弗撒就与基拉得的众长者一起走了，人民就让他作头和军长治理他们；并且耶弗撒在米兹派里把自己的一切话语在主面前讲了出来。

    于是耶弗他同基列的长老回去，百姓就立耶弗他作领袖、作元帅。耶弗他在米斯巴将自己的一切话陈明在耶和华面前。

    Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD in Mizpeh.

12. 12

    耶弗他派使者们去见亚扪儿女的王，说，你与我有什么关系，竟来到我的领土攻打我呢？

    然后耶弗撒派众使者去见阿门孩子们的王，说，你和我有什么关系，使你来我的土地里攻打我？

    耶弗他打发使者去见亚扪人的王，说：“你与我有什么相干，竟来到我国中攻打我呢？”

    And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come against me to fight in my land?

13. 13

    亚扪儿女的王回答耶弗他的使者说，因为以色列人从埃及上来的时候占据我的地，从亚嫩河到雅博河，直到约旦河。现在你要好好地将这地归还。

    阿门孩子们的王回答耶弗撒的众使者说，因为以色列从埃及上来的时候夺了我的土地，从阿农到雅伯克，直到约旦；因此你现在要和平地归还那些土地。

    亚扪人的王回答耶弗他的使者说：“因为以色列人从埃及上来的时候占据我的地，从亚嫩河到雅博河，直到约旦河。现在你要好好地将这地归还吧！”

    And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those lands again peaceably.

14. 14

    耶弗他又派使者们去见亚扪儿女的王，

    耶弗撒又派使者们去阿门孩子们的王那里；

    耶弗他又打发使者去见亚扪人的王，

    And Jephthah sent messengers again unto the king of the children of Ammon:

15. 15

    对他说，耶弗他如此说，以色列人并没有占据摩押地和亚扪儿女的地。

    对他说，耶弗撒这样说，以色列没有取过摩阿布的土地和阿门孩子们的土地；

    对他说：“耶弗他如此说，以色列人并没有占据摩押地和亚扪人的地。

    And said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah, Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon:

16. 16

    以色列人从埃及上来是经过旷野到红海，来到加低斯，

    而当以色列从埃及上来时，是经过了荒野走到红海，来到卡得示；

    以色列人从埃及上来乃是经过旷野到红海，来到加低斯，

    But when Israel came up from Egypt, and walked through the wilderness unto the Red sea, and came to Kadesh;

17. 17

    就派使者们去见以东王，说，求你让我从你的地经过。以东王却不听。又照样派使者去见摩押王，他也不允许。以色列就住在加低斯。

    那时以色列派使者们去以东王那里，说，我请求你，让我经过你的土地；但以东王不听取这一点。然后他们以同样的方式派人去摩阿布王那里；但他也不答应；以色列就住在卡得示。

    就打发使者去见以东王，说：‘求你容我从你的地经过。’以东王却不应允。又照样打发使者去见摩押王，他也不允准。以色列人就住在加低斯。

    Then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken thereto. And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel abode in Kadesh.

18. 18

    他们又经过旷野，绕着以东和摩押地，从摩押地的东边过来，在亚嫩河边安营，并没有入摩押的境内，因为亚嫩河是摩押的边界。

    于是他们又经过荒野，绕着以东的土地和摩阿布的土地，从摩阿布土地的东边过来，在阿农另一边支搭，但没有进入摩阿布的边界内；因为阿农是摩阿布的边界。

    他们又经过旷野，绕着以东和摩押地，从摩押地的东边过来，在亚嫩河边安营，并没有入摩押的境内，因为亚嫩河是摩押的边界。

    Then they went along through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, but came not within the border of Moab: for Arnon was the border of Moab.

19. 19

    以色列派使者去见亚摩利王西宏，就是希实本的王，对他说，求你让我们从你的地经过，往我们自己的地方去。

    以色列派众使者去阿摩瑞人的王西宏，就是海实本的王那里；以色列对他说，我们请求你，让我们经过你的土地，进入到我的地方。

    以色列人打发使者去见亚摩利王西宏，就是希实本的王，对他说：‘求你容我们从你的地经过，往我们自己的地方去。’

    And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said unto him, Let us pass, we pray thee, through thy land into my place.

20. 20

    但西宏不信任以色列人，不让他们经过他的境界，而是招聚他的众民在雅杂安营，与以色列人争战。

    但西宏不相信以色列，不让他们经过他的边境；而且西宏把他所有的人民聚集到一起，在雅哈兹支搭，攻打以色列。

    西宏却不信服以色列人，不容他们经过他的境界，乃招聚他的众民在雅杂安营，与以色列人争战。

    But Sihon trusted not Israel to pass through his coast: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and pitched in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

21. 21

    耶和华以色列的神将西宏和他的众民都交在以色列人手中，以色列人就击杀他们，得了亚摩利人的全地：

    主以色列的神就把西宏和他所有的人民都交在以色列手中，他们就重击了他们；因此以色列占有了阿摩瑞人的全土地，那地区的众居民。

    耶和华以色列的　神将西宏和他的众民都交在以色列人手中，以色列人就击杀他们，得了亚摩利人的全地：

    And the LORD God of Israel delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they smote them: so Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.

22. 22

    从亚嫩河到雅博河，从旷野直到约旦河。

    他们占有了阿摩瑞人的全边境，从阿农直到雅伯克，从荒野直到约旦。

    从亚嫩河到雅博河，从旷野直到约旦河。

    And they possessed all the coasts of the Amorites, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and from the wilderness even unto Jordan.

23. 23

    耶和华以色列的神在他百姓以色列面前赶出亚摩利人，你竟要得他们的地吗？

    所以主以色列的神在他人民以色列面前驱逐了阿摩瑞人，现在你应该占有它吗？

    耶和华以色列的　神在他百姓以色列面前赶出亚摩利人，你竟要得他们的地吗？

    So now the LORD God of Israel hath dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and shouldest thou possess it?

24. 24

    你的神基抹所给你的地你不是得为业吗？耶和华我们的神在我们面前所赶出的人，我们就得他的地。

    你的神凯摩示给你去占有的地，你难道不会去占有吗？所以主我们的神在我们面前要赶出去的无论是谁，我们都要去占有他们。

    你的神基抹所赐你的地你不是得为业吗？耶和华我们的　神在我们面前所赶出的人，我们就得他的地。

    Wilt not thou possess that which Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So whomsoever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.

25. 25

    难道你比摩押王西拨的儿子巴勒还强吗？他曾与以色列相争，与他们争战。

    现在你在任何事情上比摩阿布王兹坡的儿子巴莱克好吗？

    难道你比摩押王西拨的儿子巴勒还强吗？他曾与以色列人争竞，或是与他们争战吗？

    And now art thou any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them,

26. 26

    以色列人住希实本和属希实本的乡村，亚罗珥和属亚罗珥的乡村，并沿亚嫩河的一切城市，已经有三百年了；在这三百年之内，你们为什么没有取回这些地方呢？

    以色列住在海实本和她的城镇里，阿若耳和她的城镇里，沿阿农边境的一切城市里，三百年，期间他与以色列相争过，或攻打过他们吗？在那段时间内，你们为什么没有夺回它们？

    以色列人住希实本和属希实本的乡村，亚罗珥和属亚罗珥的乡村，并沿亚嫩河的一切城邑，已经有三百年了；在这三百年之内，你们为什么没有取回这些地方呢？

    While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that be along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover them within that time?

27. 27

    我没有得罪过你，你却攻打我，恶待我。愿审判人的耶和华今天在以色列儿女和亚扪儿女中间判断是非。

    所以我没有向你犯罪，而你却错误地待我，并与我争战；审判者主今天要在以色列孩子们和阿门孩子们中间审判。

    原来我没有得罪你，你却攻打我，恶待我。愿审判人的耶和华今日在以色列人和亚扪人中间判断是非。”

    Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: the LORD the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.

28. 28

    但亚扪儿女的王不愿意听耶弗他派人说的话。

    然而阿门孩子们的王不听取耶弗撒传给他的话语。

    但亚扪人的王不肯听耶弗他打发人说的话。

    Howbeit the king of the children of Ammon hearkened not unto the words of Jephthah which he sent him.

29. 29

    耶和华的灵降在耶弗他身上，他就经过基列和玛拿西，来到基列的米斯巴，又从米斯巴来到亚扪儿女那里。

    于是主的灵来到耶弗撒身上，他就穿过基拉得和马拿西，又穿过基拉得的米兹派，又从基拉得的米兹派穿到阿门孩子们那里。

    耶和华的灵降在耶弗他身上，他就经过基列和玛拿西，来到基列的米斯巴，又从米斯巴来到亚扪人那里。

    Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of Ammon.

30. 30

    耶弗他就向耶和华许愿，说，你若将亚扪儿女交在我手中，

    耶弗撒向主发了一个誓，说，如果你把阿门孩子们交在我手中，没有失败，

    耶弗他就向耶和华许愿，说：“你若将亚扪人交在我手中，

    And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands,

31. 31

    我从亚扪儿女那里平平安安回来的时候，无论什么，先从我家门出来迎接我，就必成为耶和华的，我也必将它献上为燔祭。

    那么就这样，当我从阿门孩子们那里和平地返回时，从我家门出来迎接我的，无论谁，一定要成为主的，我会祀上它作为一个焚烧祭。

    我从亚扪人那里平平安安回来的时候，无论什么人，先从我家门出来迎接我，就必归你，我也必将他献上为燔祭。”

    Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.

32. 32

    于是耶弗他往亚扪儿女那里去，与他们争战；耶和华将他们交在他手中，

    所以耶弗撒就过到了阿门孩子们那里，去攻打他们；主就把他们交在他手中。

    于是耶弗他往亚扪人那里去，与他们争战；耶和华将他们交在他手中，

    So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hands.

33. 33

    他就大大杀败他们，从亚罗珥到米匿，直到葡萄园的平地，攻取了二十座城。这样亚扪儿女就被以色列儿女制伏了。

    他以一个极大的屠杀从阿若耳重击他们，甚至来到明尼斯，就是葡萄园的平原，共二十座城。这样阿门孩子们就在以色列孩子们面前被制伏了。

    他就大大杀败他们，从亚罗珥到米匿，直到亚备勒·基拉明，攻取了二十座城。这样亚扪人就被以色列人制伏了。

    And he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very great slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.

34. 34

    耶弗他回米斯巴到了自己的家，看啊，他女儿拿着鼓跳舞出来迎接他，是他独生的，此外无儿无女。

    然后耶弗撒就来到米兹派到了他自己的家，看啊，他女儿拿着鼓跳舞出来迎接他；她是他唯一的孩子；除她之外他无儿无女。

    耶弗他回米斯巴到了自己的家，不料，他女儿拿着鼓跳舞出来迎接他，是他独生的，此外无儿无女。

    And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter.

35. 35

    他看见她，就撕裂衣服，说，灾难，我的女儿啊，你使我非常愁苦，叫我作难了；因为我已经向耶和华开口许愿，不能挽回。

    当他看见她时，这样发生了，他就撕裂他的衣服，说，唉，我的女儿！你使我非常低微，你是为难我的事中的一件；因为我已经向主开过我的口，我不能收回了。

    耶弗他看见她，就撕裂衣服，说：“哀哉！我的女儿啊，你使我甚是愁苦，叫我作难了；因为我已经向耶和华开口许愿，不能挽回。”

    And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.

36. 36

    她对他说，父啊，你既向耶和华开口，就应当照你口中所说的向我行，因耶和华已经在仇敌亚扪儿女身上为你报仇；

    她就对他说，我的父亲，如果你已经向主开了你的口，就按照源于你口的对我做吧；为此主已经在你众敌人阿门孩子们身上为你报了仇。

    他女儿回答说：“父啊，你既向耶和华开口，就当照你口中所说的向我行，因耶和华已经在仇敌亚扪人身上为你报仇”；

    And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of Ammon.

37. 37

    她又对她父亲说，请为我作一件事：让我去两个月，我可以到山上，与我的同伴一起为我的童贞哀哭。

    她又对她父亲说，就为我做这件事吧；让我独处两个月，使我在群山上走走，我和我的同伴可以一起为我的处女身哀号。

    又对父亲说：“有一件事求你允准：容我去两个月，与同伴在山上，好哀哭我终为处女。”

    And she said unto her father, Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may go up and down upon the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my fellows.

38. 38

    耶弗他说，你去吧！就让她去两个月。她便和同伴去了，在山上为她终为童女哀哭。

    他说，去吧。然后他就送她离开两个月；她就和她的同伴一起去了，在群山上为她的处女身哀号。

    耶弗他说：“你去吧！”就容她去两个月。她便和同伴去了，在山上为她终为处女哀哭。

    And he said, Go. And he sent her away for two months: and she went with her companions, and bewailed her virginity upon the mountains.

39. 39

    两月已满，她回到父亲那里，父亲就照所许的愿向她行了。女儿终身没有认识男子。

    两月结束了，这样发生了，她返回到父亲那里，他就按照他发的誓约向她做了；她没有认识过男人。这事成为以色列里的一个习俗，

    And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed: and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,

    此后以色列中有个规矩，每年以色列的女儿们去为基列人耶弗他的女儿哀哭四天。

    每年以色列的女儿们要去为基拉得人耶弗撒的女儿哀痛四天。

    此后以色列中有个规矩，每年以色列的女子去为基列人耶弗他的女儿哀哭四天。

    That the daughters of Israel went yearly to lament the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in a year.
