耶和华告诉摩西说，
主对摩西讲话，说，
耶和华晓谕摩西说：
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

你派人去察探我所给以色列儿女的迦南地，他们每支派中要派一个人，都要作首领的。
你派人，让他们可以去搜索刊南的土地，就是我给以色列孩子们的；你们要从他们父辈的每个支派中派出一个人，每一个都是他们当中的管理者。
“你打发人去窥探我所赐给以色列人的迦南地，他们每支派中要打发一个人，都要作首领的。”
Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.

摩西就照耶和华的命令从巴兰的旷野派他们去；他们都是以色列儿女的头。
摩西就照主的诫命从帕冉的荒野派他们去；那些人都是以色列孩子们的众头领。
摩西就照耶和华的吩咐从巴兰的旷野打发他们去；他们都是以色列人的族长。
And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

他们的名字：属流便支派的有撒刻的儿子沙母亚。
这些是他们的名；属瑞乌本支派，扎库的儿子闪姆阿。
他们的名字：属流便支派的有撒刻的儿子沙母亚。
And these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.

Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.

Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun.

Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.

Of the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.

这就是摩西所派、窥探那地之人的名字。摩西就称嫩的儿子何希阿为约书亚。
这些就是摩西派去察探那土地之人的名。并且摩西称嫩的儿子奥西阿为耶和书亚。
这就是摩西所打发、窥探那地之人的名字。摩西就称嫩的儿子何西阿为约书亚。
These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.

摩西派他们去窥探迦南地，说，你们从南地上山地去，
摩西派他们去察探刊南的土地，对他们说，你们从这条南边的路上去，上去进入山里；
摩西打发他们去窥探迦南地，说：“你们从南地上山地去，
And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:

看那地如何，其中所住的民是强是弱，是多是少，
看那土地怎么样；其中住的人民，他们是强壮的还是软弱的，是少还是多；
看那地如何，其中所住的民是强是弱，是多是少，
And see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;

所住之地是好是歹，所住之处是营地是坚城。
他们住的土地怎么样，是好还是坏；他们住的众城怎么样，是在帐篷里还是在坚固的要塞里；
所住之地是好是歹，所住之处是营盘是坚城。
And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;

又看那地土是肥美是贫瘠，其中有树木没有。你们要放开胆量，把那地的果子带些来。那时正是葡萄初熟的时候。
又看那土地是肥美还是贫瘠，其中有没有树木。你们要有好的勇气，把那土地的果子带些来。那时正是葡萄初熟的时候。
又看那地土是肥美是瘠薄，其中有树木没有。你们要放开胆量，把那地的果子带些来。”（那时正是葡萄初熟的时候。）
And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.

他们上去察探那地，从寻的旷野到利合，直到哈马口。
所以他们就上去，搜索那土地，从兹恩的荒野到瑞和布，如人们来到哈马斯。

So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.

他们从南地上去，到了希伯仑；在那里有亚衲儿女，亚希幔、示筛、挞买。（希伯仑被建造比埃及的琐安早七年。）
他们从南边上去，到了希伯伦；就是阿希幔，示晒，他尔迈，阿拿克孩子们的地方。（希伯伦比埃及的佐安早建造七年。）
他们从南地上去，到了希伯仑；在那里有亚衲族人亚希幔、示筛、挞买。（原来希伯仑城被建造比埃及的锁安城早七年。）
And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

他们到了以实各溪，从那里砍了葡萄树的一枝，上头有一挂葡萄，两个人用杠抬着，又带了些石榴和无花果来。
他们来到埃实扣的溪那里，就从那里砍了一条枝子带有一串葡萄，他们两个人用杠抬着；他们又带了些石榴和无花果。
他们到了以实各谷，从那里砍了葡萄树的一枝，上头有一挂葡萄，两个人用杠抬着，又带了些石榴和无花果来。（
And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

（因为以色列人从那里砍来的那挂葡萄，所以那地方叫作以实各溪。）
这地方被叫做埃实扣溪，是因为以色列孩子们从那里砍下的那串葡萄。

The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.

过了四十天，他们察探那地才回来，

And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

到了巴兰旷野的加低斯，见摩西、亚伦，并以色列儿女全会众，回报摩西、亚伦，并全会众，又把那地的果子给他们看；
他们就来到摩西，亚伦，以色列孩子们的所有集合那里，就是帕冉荒野的卡得示；并给他们和所有集合带回话来，又把那土地的果子显给他们。
到了巴兰旷野的加低斯，见摩西、亚伦，并以色列的全会众，回报摩西、亚伦，并全会众，又把那地的果子给他们看；
And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

他们告诉他说，我们到了你所派我们去的那地，它确实是流奶与蜜之地；这就是那地的果子。
他们告诉他，说，我们到了你派我们去的那土地，它的确流奶与蜜；这就是它的果子。
又告诉摩西说：“我们到了你所打发我们去的那地，果然是流奶与蜜之地；这就是那地的果子。
And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

然而住那地的民强壮，城市也有城墙而且非常大，并且我们在那里看见了亚衲儿女。
然而住那土地的人民强壮，众城市也有城墙并且非常大；此外我们在那里看见了阿拿克孩子们。
然而住那地的民强壮，城邑也坚固宽大，并且我们在那里看见了亚衲族的人。
Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

亚玛力人住在南地；赫人、耶布斯人、亚摩利人住在山地；迦南人住在海边并约旦河旁。
阿马莱克人住在南边的土地里；希斯人，耶布斯人，阿摩瑞人住在山里；刊南人住在海边，和约旦的沿岸。
亚玛力人住在南地；赫人、耶布斯人、亚摩利人住在山地；迦南人住在海边并约旦河旁。”
The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

迦勒在摩西面前安抚百姓，说，我们立刻上去得那地吧，因为我们足能胜过它。
然后卡勒布就在摩西面前平静了人民，说，我们立刻上去占有它吧；因为我们足能胜过它。
迦勒在摩西面前安抚百姓，说：“我们立刻上去得那地吧！我们足能得胜。”
And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

但那些和他一起去的人说，我们不能上去攻击那民，因为他们比我们强壮。
但那些和他一起上去的人说，我们不能上去攻击那人民；因为他们比我们强壮。
但那些和他同去的人说：“我们不能上去攻击那民，因为他们比我们强壮。”
But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

探子中有人说到所察探之地，向以色列儿女报恶信，说，我们所察探、经过之地是吞吃居民之地，我们在那里所看见的人民都身量高大。
他们就向以色列孩子们带来那搜索的土地的坏报告，说，我们搜索并经过的土地，是一块吞吃居民的土地，我们在那里看见的所有人民，都是身量高大的人。
探子中有人论到所窥探之地，向以色列人报恶信，说：“我们所窥探、经过之地是吞吃居民之地，我们在那里所看见的人民都身量高大。
And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

我们在那里看见亚衲众子，都是巨人；是从巨人出来的。据我们看，自己就如蚱蜢一样；据他们看，我们也是这样。
我们在那里看见巨人，阿拿克众子，是从巨人来的；我们在自己眼里就像蚂蚱，我们在他们眼里也同样。
我们在那里看见亚衲族人，就是伟人；他们是伟人的后裔。据我们看，自己就如蚱蜢一样；据他们看，我们也是如此。”
And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
